THE CASE

Our client, originally from Mexico, lost the right to use her mother’s surname after obtaining the Italian citizenship since, at the time, our legal system did not allow the use of a maternal surname.

THE SOLUTION
Having analysed all the documents provided by our office, we prepared a request to the competent bodies to add the maternal surname.

After thirty days of the decision on the Municipality’s public registry, the addition of the maternal surname was authorised and promptly registered in the Civil Registry.
